Well Samsung is supposed to be the best as reported by most people. However from my experience. My old Xbox had a Philips drive I believe and it read everything. Any brand of DVD-R and DVD-RW and CD-RW. I never tried CD-Rs in it.

And now on my current Xbox which has a Samsung drive I can't read Pioneer DVD-RWs and it seems to take a long time to read Verbatims DVD-RWs too. All my DVD-Rs seem to be working good. Oh yeah also I have problems reading TDK CD-RWs... Sometimes it reads them and sometimes not.

So from my experience Samsung is not the best as reported by most people.
