To save the game in IGI2, you have to go to the map computer display and select the option there. When you do that you'll see the 'battery' indicator drop. When it reduces to nothing you can't save any more.
The Hotkey for save is 'I', I think but it should be configurable from the key options screen. I'd expect that the limited amount of saves is per level, not per game, (hopefully)! Vic
