Complete n00bies xbox question

Hiya,

been looking around but couldnt see this anywhere around. so i apologise if its been asked and flamed thousends of times before.


Whats the crack with xbox games? do they all need to be on DVD, i have read about "ripped" versions, so can you just burn onto a CDR and go from there? or are the ripped versions just so that you can fit a good few onto a DVD disk?

i thought i read somewhere that xboxes didnt read from CD's, only DVD. i might have just dreampt that though

i ask cos i mate has asked me for some xbox stuff and as i havent got one i havent got a clue
