DVD-R PS2

I'VE SEEN ALL THE STUFF ON THE FORUM ABOUT DVD-RIPPING ETC.(SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF HASSLE), BUT WHY CANT YOU JUST BUY A DVD-R AND USE CLONECD TO COPY THE DISKS LIKE WITH THE ###NE??
