I just installed Clone CD 4.2.0.2 (unregistered) and NERO 5.5.9.13 that came bundled with a Liteon 52x24x52x CD/RW drive.
Things worked great until a freezeup just after making a backup of an audio CD (after successfully making others). On restart, my WINME system "found" new hardware - a PCI RAID Controller device and it searched unsuccessfuly for its driver. I did too on my HD and on the net. I uninstalled everything, removed the PCI RAID device from my device manager configuration and did a clean start. No device search occurred. Then, I reinstalled the programs and once again, the hardware search is happening at startup. I did NOT install the CLONE CD virtual drive (figuring that might have been the cause). My Device Manager CD-ROM section is now reporting my E-IDE DVD drive, my LiteOn drive, and a virtual NERO Imagedrive 2. Also, under Other devices there is now a Yellow questionmark over PCI RAID Controller. I have NO physical RAID controller that I know of and never did. If anybody has any information about what's going on, I'de sure appreciate your comments and insights. Thanks |
