You think people are over charging for modchips. Well it takes about 1-2 hours to install. The solder points are also very difficult to install. If they mess up and have a solder bridge and start up the PS2 the PS2 motherboard could be fired. They would have to pay for a whole new PS2. Thats around $200. They are only covering for themselves just to make sure the PS2 doesnt get fried. Well now why dont you just try doing it yourself. All you need is a .10mm soldering iron tip and percision soldering. If you have seen the distance between some of the solder points you would notice they are less than a hair's length width. Thats only about 30 dollars an hour. If you would notice that people who are professionaly in the field get paid that or more for soldering. I know my mom used to do it.
