v7 console + Messiah Chip >> Black screen??

A friend of mine just plumped for a V7 console, with a messiah 2 in it.


He seems to have a problem after an indeterminate amount of time. It plays everything you put into it (nice!), but occasionally it will freeze, and more often than not, after you have been playing it for some length of time, and then go to put another game into it, the damn thing won't boot again. Not lease till a couple of hours later.

The screen is just completely black.

Has anyone else came across this?

The LAMO that did it hasn't contacted my friend back, so if anyone can advise me, I'd be appreciative.

Just been advised that it must all be my fault, as the 50 he has chipped before haven't gone wrong!

Now, I'm not exactly a new kid on the bloke, and I went into this with my eyes open, had a v64 for chris'sake, and generally know a little.

This version PS2 exhibits a collection of these symptoms. The guy is trying to charge my friend £20.00 quid to rectify the problem.

This standard? My mate should have to pay for his f*ck up? Sorry to rant, I just feel like the guy is being un-scrupulous!
