nero burning rom

okey i have just ripped the file with smartripper and editted the information with ifoEdit and then i used nero burning rom to burn it the burn was successful but when i tried to play it on my home dvd players(about 4 of them) even my xbox i tried ........so i then went to put it in my computers dvd drive and it worked .....im new with nero so can anyone give me a tutorial site or explain to me the steps i need to take to burn a good copy playable in home dvd players

oh btw the media i used was a fujifilm dvd+r
