please insert playstation cd rom

i have installed a mod chip on my psx 5500. It will play all of my originals but it wont play any back ups. It tells me 2 insert playstation cd rom. I borrowed a game enhancer 3 from a friend and all of my back ups play that way but they wont play w/ my mod chip. DO i have 2 patch my back ups so they will play w/ the mod chip in place. thx, cecil
