Macromedia's Director Player

My last post has not appeared so I will try again, probabley end up with two!

I have a CD which was made with the above and QT mov files which runs on both Mac an PC it doesn't install any software on the hard disk.

When I back it up the back up does not work! all files are visible and you can play the mov's but if you run Macromedia's Director Player it changes the cursor and changes it back again and thats it!

What protection does Macromedia's Director Player 7.02 use and how do you overcome it?
