driver vs. firmware

what's the difference between firmware and driver?

i've got a samsung sn-308b combo and clony XXL find u003 firmware. i downloaded u021.bin file, can i install it? if yes, how can i do that?

i looked for a new driver everywhere (i think so), but i never found anyone, where can i find that? i hope new firmware or driver will resolve my copy problem (see my other thread: i can't read copies on my combo)!
