IT WORKED!!! (Sort Of)
I can disable my Audigy sound card, start the game, and then ALT-Tab out and re-enable my Audigy ... This allows the game to start (finaly!) and even gives me sound during the intro and movie ... I don't have any sound when I play the actual game though
 Damn that Creative Labs and their lousy driver support!!!  Thanks for the mad tip though, I was going nuts just trying to get the thing to work!!!
