PS2 Apple3 Modchip installation guide

Hello.

I'm looking for some help on how to physically install an APPLE3 modchip onto my PS2 US V7 unit. As I am new at this, the more detail the information the better. I would like to succeed on the first try since I don't want to purchase another PS2 unit.

Also, which chip is superior and why - an APPLE3 chip or MESSIAH2? Any information or help would be greatly appreciated.
