can't copy with cd checks

for some reason i'm unable to back up the fallen which has cd checks,when using ordinary burning software i get error reading block "so and so"
and when use clone cd with no options checked it copies but won't play(nothing happens when click on icon)tried fast error skip also with same results(cdrw dosen't support sub channel data,although that shouldn't be needed with cd checks?) please help!(philips cdrw 404)Brad.
