this happened with my Action replay a while ago, if its the "no hardware detected " message your dongle's faulty and you can get it replaced with a new one from the place u bought it or at worst the distributer of the product..
other than that try booting with the GS in the tray holding L1+L2+R1+R2 this will re-flash the dongle from the GS cd...... works with action replay.... should be the same with the GS another thing u mentioned u were using 2.11 of the gameshark with AR2 they stopped dvd-r booting after version 2.2 ... just a thought.
