I have a PS2 modded with the apple chip and I am very pleased with the performance. I bought my pre-modded PS2 from
www.lik-sang.com. I only burn PSX games on verbatim media and CD-type PS2 games on just about anything. I haven't yet burned any DVD type games yet because my DVD-burner is not installed yet. I can play about 97% of my back-ups, have found a couple PSX games that don't get past the Playstation logo start up screen. I have been through 2 PS2's and 2 different mod-chips before I was happy, the USB mod, and the no-solder chip. Trust the experienced ones in that the Messiah and the Magic 2 chips are probably the best, but so far the apple chip is doing well for me. Also I have no problem playing DVD movies on my PS2. If anyone has any more questions on the apple chip just ask, I'll try to answer.
