can i ask question about standalone dvd's?

I have just taken my schnider dvd 855 player back to asda cause it was out of sync.

so now i am looking for another budget player (round the £150 mark), which will play vcd and can be made multiregion as i have a couple of region 1 disks.

if macrovision can be removed the more the better

ne ideas/reccomendations?
