yes its possible but it means stuffing a knife in ps2 tray to open it everytime u want to boot a game
very very risky so many ps2 r broken this way the safest way is to buy a chip depending were u from pal ntsc what chip is best for u pal best option is messiah rough price guide with fitting is somewere in region of £100 sounds expensive but not really no ar2 needed saves u £30 all games boot np just pop in let it work
