RE: Ngithstalker not trying to flame you
Night, you misunderstood what I was trying to say--and I guess it was my fault for not presenting it more nicely (sorry!) Some important info was being overlooked, and you ripped into clark, that is all I was saying.
Chow had not mentioned his version info. Clark was telling him what version numbers were required for the swap methods generally used, and had been posted in this thread. He in fact was telling the truth so far as he and everyone else in this thread knew, and thus had become standard practice. You had a new method to offer that was successful for you, and no one else had any knowledge of. You guys started ripping on each other. All I was saying is take a step back and read and and analyze all the info before you essentially call someone an idiot or a liar. It appeared you had not considered the fact that your idea was new and untested by anyone else, and that the conventional method which does require a specific range of version numbers for success wasn't working. Perhaps you could start a thread to post this other method for others to try...it may help unclog the channels a bit. Some alternative methods I've seen can cause the tray to open while the disk is still spinning--I launched my Jedi-Starfighter DVD across the room one time because my timing was off! (my box is mounted vertical) All you had to say is"hey, I've got a method that does work with these other version numbers--check it out"--but instead you chose to rip on clark and say he didn't know what he was talking about. In fact, he did....he just didn't know what you were talking about, because it was completely new. This forum is here to present new ideas, and help others. We appreciate the help, but it is hard to work your way through the thread when every other post is ripping into someone and negating everyone's tried and tested methods. Thanks for putting up with our misguided efforts to figure this out.... Raist |
