IDE vs SCSI

I currently have an IDE CD and a SCSI CD writer. I set it up in this way because there used to be issues making copies across the SCSI bus. I am now in the position of upgrading my CD writer and would like opinions on whether to stick to this arrangement or go for IDE - IDE or SCSI SCSI ? What do you think !
