What ide channel is your writer connected to? If you want to burn data from your harddrive, you should have your writer at a different controller than your harddrive. To make it perfect, there shouldn't be any other drive connected to the same controller. If you have a mainboard with one ide controller (-> 4 channels) use the following configuration:
Primary Master: HDD Secondary Master: CD-ROM drive Secondary Slave: Writer The other side of the coin: Now you might have problems doing copies from cd's "on the fly" (directly from your cd-rom drive). So if you have two controllers, connect the writer to the second controller, so that it got a controller all for himself. Maybe that helps. But also make sure that you use the latest version of Nero (check their webpage) or try using different software.
