Another MOHAA thread- gamex86.dll error

OK, heres what ive done so far.
Made 2 folders on my desktop for cd1 and cd 2. Copied the contents in to the appropriate folders. Then i copied in the no cd exe. , burned them onto cd's and then started the game. It gets me to the in game menu but when I try to play it says gamex86.dll error and when i try to play multiplayer the servers always just time out.
I read every MOHAA thread and saw someone with the same problem but the only response was telling him to make sure the no cd exe and patch matched the version of the game he had. I checked this and they do.
I didnt try installing with the backup. It was already installed from the original. I just tried playing with a backup.
This is my first try at making a copy so be gentle. Thanks alot.
