Diablo 2, play disk error

Ok, I copied the Diablo 2 play disk using CloneCD, and it copied successfully, but when I try to run it, it tells me to insert the play disk. If I start the game with the original disk, then switch to the copy after the game has started it plays alright. Can anyone help me get around this?
