You're wrong. Many blind tests show that tons of people can hear the difference of 96, 128, 192, 256 etc bitrates on many codecs. Only Opus is better than heavly outdated OGG Vorbis. I am saying that a 96 bitrate ogg vorbis sounds better than 128 bitrate mp3.
I am not comparing a 128kb bitrate mp3 to 96 bitrate mp3.

and talking about outdated, wav was first time realeased in 1991, mp3 in 1995, and org vorbis in 2002
opus is released in 2012 but the main problem with opus is it does not support album art. so I still use mp3 instead of opus.
