backing up a backup. PLZ HELP!!!

i have and acer cdrw that isnt compatible w/ clonecd. I use cdrwin and then ppf-o-matic. Still a no go. I have a backup of madden2k1 as ntsc and used the patch with ppf-o-matic. Still nothing. Fairly new at this. BTW, my PSX is an older version (not 9000 series). Any help is appreciated. Also, will PPF-O-Matic work with cdrwin on original games like i would rent wit hthe same process?
cdrwin to make a bin and cue, use a patch wit hppfomatic on the file, then record. not sure what i am missing here.
