Biohazard Gun Survivor (Resident Evil Survivor)

Does anyone know if the japanese title, Biohzard Gun Survivor (a.k.a. Resident Evil Surivor), trully requires a game patch? I heard that it would need one. So, I downloaded this file which was named "kal-bgsc" from ####://www.psxcopyworld.com/ and tried to apply the patch. But when I turned on my system with the burned game, I got this error message about my playstation being possibly modifed (also with the orginal CD - why?). Does this mean that I patched the game incorrectly along with the wrong patch? When I tried doing it, I used CDRWIN 3.8D to extract the orginal CD onto a new folder in my hard drive. After that I extracted all the zip files of the "kal-bgsc" into the new folder which contained the extracted orginal CD info. With all that stuff in it I double clicked the file that said "APPLYPPF". Right when I did that I thought that the patch had taken affect since the ms-dos screen came up saying that it was finished. After that, I burned the game onto a blank CD by loading the cue sheet that was created. Now obviously my patching procedure must be wrong. Is there a better way to be doing this? If there's a better patch out there, I'd appreciate it anyone could send it to me email at matt_a_s********
