BF2142 legal copy, but no disc....tbc
Ok, I have BF2142 installed, with a CD-Key that is legal and even registered with EA, the problem is that when I moved one of my roommate's decided that on top of the DVD would be the perfect place to drop the couch.
Here I am with two halves of a disc that used to work just fine, leading me to my current problem. Using a legally purchased CD-key and installed game, is there a way I can still legally play the multiplayer combat I am so addicted to. I have read your forums and a dozen others on, reaching the conclusion that a NO-CD exe is not what I want, as I want to play online. A mini-image also will not be any good, since apparently bf2142 is built to avoid that. So, my solution seems to be to get my hands on a full sized image of the game (space isn't a problem, I have 1.2 terabytes of HDD space, I'm comfortable allocating 3.4 gigabytes to a game I love). My question is thus; Will downloading a full-sized image of the game recorded using alcoholsoft and mounted under daemon-tools with all emulations enabled allow me to play online? Are there any special steps I should be aware of? Regardless, if this works I will keep the forum up to date with my progress. |
