fargo util for ps2 - does it work?

anybody know whether this fargo utility actually works?? Supposedly it allows you to patch copied ISO images of PS2 games so that you can boot-swap them with an original PS2 CD.

In the instructions it says it works for US and Jap games - anybody had any success with UK PAL as well?
