Any tool which reads ATIP (or Pre-Groove) from CD as well as DVD?

Any tool which reads ATIP (or Pre-Groove) from CD as well as DVD?

Hi all,
I'm new to the scene so don't know much. I have a single LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S which I bought sometime ago. Now there is DVD Identifier as well as quite a few other softwares. I'm sure there is something similar for CD media also. My questions are :-

1. A good software to read ATIP (or Pre-Groove) from CD
2. Is there a possibility of any damage by using this application and/or CD in the single DVD optical drive.
