DOS games

Can anyone tell me about DOS games, Like Pandora Directive or other similar games, although I can install it, I can't get any sound, or some other games, they can't even be installed.
Has someone been able to do it. I heard that I needed the DOS BOX. Fine, but do I get this software or any others for that matter.
