Hey oRb-haw-,
I've just started playing DOOM:TNT and am about to play Heretic and the Hexen. There's a genial DOOM engine called Doomsday available for free at http://www.doomsdayhq.com . When you're done downloading the engine, make sure to download the music packages (ahhh!), the hi-res texture packages (AHHH!) and the 3D monster packages (AYIEH!!!  ).Oh, by the way, Doomsday, probably, allows you to play online (via private server?), too.
