Intermittent fault

I have modded 2 v1.3 machines today with the smartbox (aka x-cutor pro) and have the same problem with both.

The problem with both machines is an intermittent fault. After fitting the chip, I fire it up before assembly & all is fine. Yet, after assembly I get the red/green blink. I've gone back over the LPC points one at a time, booting up after soldering each point until the machine boots normally. Alas, when it works again, just fitting the drives back in position is enough to blink red/green again.

After testing/assembly, I managed on one occasion to screw the case up & have the machine tested & ready to go when I switched it off & back on again, blink blink blink!.

Any ideas anybody?
