Factory discs are PRESSED, not burnt.
Totally different process. Each layer is created separately, and then smooshed together inside a plastic casing to create the DVD you see before you. As Bighap said, the 9GB+ DVD Media you see are just double-sided 4.7 GB discs. Gotta flip 'em over. - Gurm
