problems with mediamatics dvd player 4.00.018.2.1(4)

if anyone could help me with this pathetic joke of dvd software....if i install another dvd player software it AND mediamatics wont work at all. if thats not worse enough just useing it like normal and not tampering with it itself or the region codeing it stuffs up after about a month.
its driving me pretty crazy.
i have the original version but it lock on the stupid ibm recovery cd and if i want to install again i have to do a system recovery.crap.
any help at all would be very very appreciated!!!
