Question PATCH.ACE and PATCH.BAT (SIMS)

I am trying to make a back up of the game The Sims, so my kids won't destroy our CD. It told me to create a temp directory named TempDir:C:\TEMP\CD, but my computer will not let me name anything that has slashes in it. I also need to know where and how to extract PATCH.ACE from and also where and how do I execute PATCH.BAT from? I would appreciate any help you can provide.

The name of the directory is "CD" not "C:\TEMP\CD" - that's just telling you where to create the directory. In fact, it doesn't matter where you make a new directory or how you name it - it was just an example.

Use WinACE (search Google) to unace the ACE archive.
Place the patch.bat in the directory that the game is and execute.
