Question GTA3 and Medal or Honor backups

I wish to make backups of my 2 best games, GTA3
and Medal of Honor: Allied Assult. I have an
Atapi 32x10x40 CDRW and CloneCD 4.0.1.9

The details that CloneCD gives me on my CDRW are:

Device Capabilities:
Note: This information is provided by the unit, it might be inaccurate. CloneCD does not use this information!
Manufacturer: ATAPI
Product: CD-R/RW 32X10
Revision: T.JA
Can read CD-R Discs: Yes
Can read CD-RW Discs: Yes
Can read DVD Discs: No
Can read MultiSession Discs: Yes
Can read Digital Audio Discs: Yes
Digital Audio Data is accurate: Yes
Can write CD-R Discs: Yes
Can write CD-RW Discs: Yes
Compatible with CloneCD RAW-DAO: Yes
Compatible with CloneCD RAW-DAO Write Simulation: Yes
Supports writing of CD+G RAW-DAO: Yes
Compatible with CloneCD RAW-SAO: Yes
Compatible with CloneCD RAW-SAO Write Simulation: Yes
Supports Buffer Underrun Protection: Yes

I notice both these games are protected by safe disc v2, will I be able to copy them by writing an image file to my HD then writing the image to cd? I successfuly backed up Dungeon Siege by doing this.

Can someone give me step by step instructions on how to back my games up, I desperatly want to do this as these are my favourite games and I would be gutted if the disc got scratched beyond repair or got stolen, I don't want to use a no cd patch as I hear this can cause problems when updating games. I realize that there are many other posts on this subject but I have searched through them without any luck. Prehaps this could be made a sticky post so that all other people can read step by step instructions.

I have also seen the backup patch on the mega games web site, is this suitable to use and if so how do I use it?

I am running windows XP home and I also have Prassi Primo CD Plus software.

Thanks so much in advance.

easy mohaa copy

I have made a copy of mohaa by just burning the files and contents instead of cd copy just select all the files, them drag and drop using nti pro 2000 then get the no cd crack and it works perfectly, i was amazed it worked because it was protected by safe disc 2.

Your hardware is good enough to make 1:1 copies with CloneCD.

You should be able to back up both games by copying them the same way as u copied Dungeon Siege.

The cd backup patch is unnecessary if u can do a 1:1 copy, but the patch is probably a no-cd.

You can update a game that has been patched with a no-cd crack, as long as you replace the file which you originally replaced when you used the no-cd patch, (to do this you would need to keep a backup of the original replaced *.exe file that u replaced when u overwrote it with the no-cd file, or you could just not use the no-cd crack untill you've got the game updated enough.) Also you'd need to have the right no-cd crack to corespond to the version of the game, probably depending on what you've patched it to.

I usually use cracks for backing up games. Unless i can't find a crack, then a make a 1:1 copy. The reason for this is that there's a better chance it'll work if you use a crack.

Sometimes you might come across a strange game with a few different types of protections you might have trouble with (i had a lot of trouble with Operation Flashpoint Gold Update and Emperor battle for dune, but i got them done, with some help from people here

I have GTA3 and Medal of Honor, and i copied them both with 'fixed .exe's' and 'no-cd' cracks (btw a fixed exe, is pretty much the same as a no-cd, but a 'fixed exe' crack, still makes you need the cd to play it.) But you could probably copy them both with Clone CD

If you can get your hands on Clonyxxl this will help. It will scan the cd you wish to copy to determine which type of protection is used and preset clonecd to make a successfull copy.
