I must be stupid
I have bought a usb mod from modchip.com and installed it in the PS2. Put in a backup of a ps1 game and it comes up just fine. However using the GS2 Method i cannot get a PS2 backup game to load. I think the first step is that i am burning the games wrong. I have read all the tutorials and doing exactly what they say to do. My question would be, do i still need to patch the games even if i have a mod chip? Any info or all required steps, (yes i would like someone to hold my hand) would be appreaciated. I found dreamcast easier to do. hehe

Neo ###, usb modchips can be a little fussy about loading certain games. Not all games require patching but most games by EA sports and Midway do. I would suggest Trying cdrwin and the universal ea patcher for use with the Neo###. Use a good brand of cdr like verbatim, sony or TDK, copy at a slow speed and use only the default settings with cdrwin....Good luck..Hope this helps.
