PS2 clicks with blue backed games

My PS2 is about a year old and clicks when I try to play any games with a blue backing such as Quake 3 cd rom. Is this noise from the laser? What needs to be done to resolve it? Thanks guys!

Either the lens needs cleaning (with a CD cleaning disk) or your laser is on its way out.

Yes, original games only, this unit is not modded.

I think I know what he's talking about:
There are DVD Roms, DVD Video, PlayStion 2 Roms and PlayStation Roms. These are all the discs that an unchiped PlayStation 2 accepts. In the Browser menu, DVD Roms and DVD Video show with a gold disc icon, PlaySation Roms with a black disc icon and, PlayStation 2 Roms with a blue disc icon.
There are some PlayStation games in blue discs(Unreal Tournament, Shadow Man 2, Rez, etc) and they make a lot of noise when you're playing with them. That's normal, because they are just normal cd's cloured blue as the PSOne discs are coloured black. They don't damage the PS2 laser and neither do the cdr's in wich we backup games(well, some do, but just the ones of bad quality like Sky, PSJet, among others). The best cd's are Verbatim.

Then it's because the Gameshark lens focus is retained for the swap and it isn't quite right.
