subchannel?

hi i read that the philips 1208k does not read subchannel what does this mean and can i back up sd2

You need to be able to read sub-channel information in order to backup some protected titles.

If indeed you can't backup SD2 titles, you could get a CD-ROM drive that's capable of reading sub-channel data, and copy from this drive. Toshiba cd-rom/dvd drives come highly rated.

Sorry for not knowing whether or not you can do SD2 :-) I'll try and find out!
