Question Neo 2.2 to Messiah

Hi All. I have been reading with interest these forums for around a fortnight now and recieved all my information regarding the installation of my Neo 2.2 for my v4 PAL SCPH35002 PS2.

The Neo 2.2 is fine - and was easyish to install. I had no problems other than the EA swap method does not work. I can hold reset from boot for as long as I like but this is to no avail. Sure I can boot up CD-Rs and stuff but with my DMC TOC DVD and DVD-Rs it is just not worth it.

Here is the question Charlie, Akaron, or Wizard. I have now got my messiah and have my PS2 in its exposed PCB phase - the install is daunting (but nothing I cant handle) is the step I am about to take worth it? Will it stop the clicking on my CD-Rs? How do PS2s actually handle DVD rips (I still have a few) that badly? And finally will the Messiah actually preserve the state and condition without the supposed wear and tear that the Neo 2.2 appears to achieve?

That is all. Any help you fellas can give is much appreciated. I learned all that I have from these forums - and that is a lot. I have been ripping games, not this is tiresom and the end product is never as good as the original. As far as I am concerned, when I start the sodering... there is no turning back.

Cheers guys.

what about poor old dusty

yes its well worth doing
the ps2 handles dvd rips very well same as cd based game some takes bit longer to load but this natural as it takes longer read info from a cd(r) then a dvd(r)
loading dvdr with neo is were problem is,u do a swap from origanal dvd to a backup this were the problem lays the ps2 not know u have swapped and the laser is still set to read the origanal not a dvdr
yes messiah will preserve your laser (well it wont hurt it likes neo it runs at 3.3v not 5 like neo,no swapping so laser is always set to read what it has to ,your laser will wear still but only same as if it was normal ps2
