Help booting PSX Import Backups on PS2!

Argh, Ive just got hold of a PSX IMPORT BACKUP or 2 yeah.. can I boot it on my UK Neo2.0 PS2?? If so how, Ive tried just a normal boot like a psx pal backup and nothing, ive tried a swap, and nothing!! help!!!!!! Ive tried patching it with an ntsc/pal patch.. nothing! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

import backups of psone games won't work with a neo 2 without patching the country code (NOT pal/ntsc).
