desperately need help!
recently installed a no solder mod chip into ps2, now tray wont open, taken mod chip out and put back together...still no tray, anyone have a clue, ive triple checked that there's nothing loose although the foiling is a bit crinkled. Any ideas where to take it to get checked???Any ideas what to look for?????? Only 3 months old....so annoying!!!!! |

sounds to me that either
1) the drive cable isn't attached 2) the drive cable is broken or the most likely one, your mod chip is screwed. You don't state what version ps2 you have |

my ps2 is a version 5, the tray wont open with or without chip. If it is the cable do you have any idea how i can get hold of a replacement? it has also been suggested that it could be a fuse, dya know where i can get those? Can you purchase parts for ps2 from any site? Thanks for your help. p.s. power light is still coming on, so is blue eject light, reset is working too, just tray wont open. |

i've never come across a machine where both lights operate correctly and yet still the drive doesnt open. Don't wanna advise you wrong but if you can find charlie_ps2 he might be able 2 help.

Sounds like you blew a fuse or component. Usually if a ribbon cable is damaged the reset and eject lights dont work, also theres a third plugin that the nosolder mod connects NEXT to, be sure it didnt get unpluged during the install.
