DVD Muti Region ???

i m using GS2 to playback region 5 dvd and the result remained
TV System not Match.....can anyone help
i ll be appriciate

I guess region 5 uses PAL and you have an US or japanese PS2. the NTSC machines can not output a PAL signal for DVD movies at all, it's impossible to play back the PAL movies.

my ps2 is us version, and i think i need some codes to activiate the function...but seems like no one has the code or maybe a
region x boot up cd would help,but i don't wanna spend money tho so can anyone pot a like where can download itehh....thx anyway Arakon

the region x is exactly the same thing you have in the GS2.

region code info:

5: Eastern Europe (Former Soviet Union), Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia

which means it's a PAL disc. it's impossible for NTSC PS2s to play PAL DVDs, no code and no disc can change that.
PAL movies need more video memory to display them because the resolution is higher. the US/JAP PS2 has exactly as much video memory for DVD playback as needed for NTSC. which means too little for PAL playback. you can't change that with any codes or discs or anything.

um...so Arakon, i m a little confuse here waht ur saying that region x can't do sXXt on US ps2 and why bother to buy it? is that what u saying? so there will be no way for my ps2 to play other region dvds except 1.....interesting.......

it can play any ntsc DVDs. i.e. japanese ones. just not PAL (european, australian).
