PS2 booting EA Pal game and patching, Need Help

i had few questions about burning the PS2 game on my PC and patching it with ea sport PAL game so i can play it on my american PS2. i have idea where to beging. i have the gameshark 2 version 2.01 but i have no idea how to go about making a backup of my EA pal game and then patching it, yes i do have the modchip istall in my PS2 and have CDRwin on my computer and CD-R. could u plz dirct me in the right directions. i have never done this before. i have the version 4 playstation and have the 9 pin modchip install. Help me.
