can you burn dvd with a regular cd burner

i am wondering if you can burn dvd with a regular cd rw, or do you have to buy a dvd writer, and if so do you burn them on cd rs or what do you use. Also if you need a special drive where would i look for these at. thanks

You need a DVD writer. You also need DVD recordable discs as well. In my area you can only order them over the net, I don't know about you though.
