between reading and writing try to use the latest version of betablocker for patchng the sectors..

this is how i made my backup...
You enabled AWS and used BB? If it was the old version of CCD you were using then using AWS would have ruined the copy (did with me ) But I dunno with the newest version (version 4).

I tried that themis_t, changed all settings like you said worked for you. This time they install, but still won't play from cd. Ricoh MP7163A cannot make a Safedisc copy? I used the no-cd patch instead.

What I mean is that if you used Clone CD v3.x.x.x then by ticking AWS for SD2.51 the copy wouldn't work (even after using BB). This was the case with my Plex 24 leaving me with yet more frisbees. (are there any more uses other than coasters and frisbees for our ruined cd's and those ANNOYING AOhell cd's)

betablocker patches everything that AWS would patch, so putting AWS on clone cd would probably freak the image out, since there are no weak sectors that need patching, and who knows what it does

Nah, I think it was to do with the fact that AWS in Clone CD 3.x.x.x wasn't set up to handle the different weak sectors introduced in SD 2.51 - (Betablocker had to be modified to do this) and so AWS was patching the wrong things and messing it up.

i don't have many frisbees...(about 10 since i bought ricoh)
all the frisbees i have i take and sell them to another guy that can take them for recycling and earn some money...well,this guy takes tones of cds but it costs a lot recycling but after recycling cds are better than they were before...

in order to find the firmware version go to control panel/sytem/device manager/cd rom/ricoh.../setting!
there you can see the firmware version,if it is br07 then you must go and download the new version from the ricoh site,if it is br08 you are ok...

I updated my firmware to BR08, still making frisbees with safedisc though. I think I'll just go an buy a new burner - one that supports safedisc. Would be a lot cheaper than making all these frisbees.
