Is there a design flaw in MATS-HITA CW-7502s & 80min cds?
Hi ALL!!
I had the Mats-hita CW-7502 SCSI for over a year now, but rarely burned any 80min cds. Just recently i backed up some big DivX films, and attempted to backup Deus EX, C&C TS & Firestorm.. all onto 80min CDs, the burn process completed fine. However, when i was watching 1 of DivX films.. it got to about 90% and then movie froze, cd-rom kept reading, but then i got an error, saying that it's unable to read movie file, yet i can fast forward past that bad part in movie.. and the rest plays fine. Other movies did the same. Similarly upon installing the games, i got an error saying that it's unable to copy a specific file. What i tried then is to copy & paste the full contents of ALL my 80min cds into HD.. in each case the copy process reaced a sertain file.. pause on it (with cd-rom still attempting to read) then an error popped up: "Unable to copy "cd:\File": Windows is unable to find the file, it may have been deleted or moved"... that's from my cd-rom (Diampnd 40X), form burner it comes up with: "Unable to read form meadia source" It seems that the corupted "glich" in all 80min cds, is located between 650 & 700mb on the cd. I tried all Cd-devices.. burner, 2 cd-roms, even my friends pc (with Win 98), thinking that it might be my new Win ME. All i want to know: is this a common problem with my brand of burner, or is this something else?? Any help would be greatly apreciated! |
