If I was to ask you the question "What is the best DVD Writer to purchase?", I can almost guarantee an answer of

Pioneer A03

So, can somebody tell me whether there is any difference between a UK purchased Pioneer A03 and a US purchased Pioneer A03 or even European purchased Pioneer A03?

Also, I have found somewhere where I can possibly purcahse a US Pioneer A03 for around $350 (£245). Does this sound like a good deal (and not a rip off). The A03 is sold un-opened in original retail packaging etc.

sounds like a very good deal. there are no things different at a usa european or uk a03. the region version can be changed 5 times. i suggest but it

Thanks schumy2001, SVP Communications are selling the Pioneer A03 for £334.99. I will still see if I can get it cheaper elsewhere.

Don't forget if you buy from the USA the shipping costs are around £45 and you would more than likely get slammed with import/customs duty.

Therefore any saving you appear to have made become irrelevant.

Make sure you get Prassi PrimoDVD software with the package.

You should also make sure that you upgrade the firmware to 1.68 and if you use the following site you can make it region free at the same time. Wicked!!!

have heard that there is a pioneer ao4 out any one know anything about it?

I've heard the A04 is due for release on 26 March 2002, but don't hold your breath.

It appears to have the same specifications as the A03 but it a lot more expensive.

I would wait to see if can still do the same as the A03 as it might have been modded not to read PS2 games.

The cheapest place I have found so far in the UK is SVP Communications and their £334.99.

Can anybody point me (and others) to any better offers.

The £45 mentioned above seems a bit steep for shipping costs, is this including some hidden charge, as one place I have looked at ships worldwide for $14. Has anybody got any ideas how much customs charges will bump the price up?

Also, if the package came without Prassi PrimoDVD, is it difficult to purchase on its own?
