dc cannot read cdr/also workaround from mg.com won't work

hi!!

i just traded a dreamcast (model hkt-3030, pal-e, made in indonesia, 670-14088C) but the games i burned won't work. on dcemulation.com i read ,that this model should be able to read cdrs without any modifications, but it doesn't. also the workaround for dc-games (dc-backup-faq on megagames.com) does not work.... now i'm wondering why?
btw. i'm using a teac w512eb burner... can somebody help me please?
