Unhappy My plextor 40x 12x 40x is screwed! Please help

Hey

i have the new plextor 40x 12x 40x cd writer. It fails to recognise 90/99 min CDRs. It sees 90 min media as 80 min and doesn't even recognise the manufacturer of the 99 min media.

ANY suggestions?

Thanks

Yo !

Tomorrow, I'm getting my Plextor 40x. I'll tell you what I'm able to do.

Hmmmm, are 90mins CD's to be recognized as such ? Maybe they're recognized as 80mins by CD Softs, but you can overburn up to 90mins. Ever tried ?

Have you tested to read an audio CD containing 90/99 mins ? This could be a way to check if your Plextor can read them.

I have tried to overburn the 90/99 min CDRs, but have no luck, nero just says to insert a medium with more space to write to.

Is it something i am doing wrong in nero? You just have to goto file>prefs>expert features> enable overburn to 99 min....... right?

As for the audio CDs thing.. i dont have any!!

Yo !

I got mine now.

To overburn with Nero, you gotta choose Disc-at-once rather than Track-at-once.

But DO put the simulation. I've made some coasters while trying to overburn too much. hehe. At least, until you get to know up to where your CD's can go.

I don't have any 90mins CD's either. I can't tell you if it works.

Simulation is a must for Over burning. High capacity CDs are recognised as 80 mins CDs. Thats what I have read at many places.

To know the exact capacity which you are able to write on a media use:

1. Nero CD Speed - Extra - Overburning test
2. Feurio CD Writer - Extra - Test capacity of CD-R

Hope that helps.
